Flax

Writer's picture: Natalie Natalie

Flax is one of the most amazing foods on the planet, and we want to do what we can to make sure people eat more of it! Here are a few reasons why:

1. It decreases the risk of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, while improving blood pressure and lowering serum lipid levels.

2. It's a rich source of protein and contains no gluten

3. It is a rich source of Omega 3's - the healthy fat needed for brain health

4. It is a rich source of fibre

Flax naturally has a firm seed coat which many people find difficult to chew - but our process of soaking the flax before forming it into crackers serves to soften the seed coat and to make the valuable nutrients found inside to be more readily available for your body's benefit. We think that's RAWKIN' AWESOME :)
